[i] 'all of the words' finds all pages which contain each word entered e.g. a search for 'blood transfusion' will return all pages containing both the word 'blood' and the word 'transfusion' (Boolean AND).

'exact phrase' will find pages with the exact words you entered e.g. a search for 'blood transfusion' will only return pages containing the expression 'blood transfusion'.

'at least one of the words' can be used to search for alternative spellings e.g. a search for 'foetus fetus' will return pages where either spelling occurs (Boolean OR).

'without the words' you must enter at least one search term in one of the other search option boxes when using the 'without' search (Boolean NOT).

[i] UKBTS web area: when selecting a specific web area, search results will NOT include the downloadable documents (e.g. pdf, doc, pps, xls, etc.) in that area. To search entries within these documents select 'All' or 'PDF, etc. documents'.

title - the title of the web page or document where your words are found

area - areas of the site dedicated to specific topics

context - the text surrounding your search words

link - full URL to the web page

date - the date on which the web page or document was last edited or posted on the site, not the date it was written.
